The History of Bridge
End Classics
A local dignitary, who wanted a service station close to home in the village of Dalston, just outside Carlisle, to service his Rolls Royce, established the first garage at Bridge End in the 1930s.
We have kept the name alive and continue to follow on in the traditions of the original Bridge End Service Station.
With a lifelong passion for classic cars, Alan Place has transformed the garage into a centre for Classic and Sports Cars.
At the age of 19, Alan bought his first classic car – A Frogeye Sprite.Four years later he changed it for a 1955 Triumph TR2, which he owns to this day. Alan’s personal collection now includes a 1966 Jaguar 420, an M.G.B GT, and a 1980 Reliant Scimitar GTE.
Bridge End Classics now service and restore many post-war classics, such as Rolls Royce, MG, Triumph, Jaguar, Rover, Standard, Mini, Corvette, and Bentley, etc.We also like to work on Vintage and PVT including Rolls Royce, Bentley, Alvis, Lanchester, etc.
A recent line of work has been classic motorcycles, such as the Triumph Trident and Velocette LE, together with a variety of ex-military vehicles!
We enjoy the variety of this range of cars, and have never turned down an interesting challenge!
